Art

A student at LCAD had done a beautiful painting of her sisters Golden Retriever and it was hanging in one of the display cases on campus.
Which got me thinking...I wanted someone to paint Bogey. I had NO idea what the process was in having a student commissioned to paint something. I didn't know what they would charge or the timing, or if they would even be interested in painting something for me. I approached this particular student to see if it was something that she would be interested in doing, she said she would do it for $600.
I love Bogey, but not for $600

Well, one of my co-workers knew that I was upset that this was not going to work out and offered to do the portrait for me. I love how it turned out and its now hanging in our Family Room.
Now if I could only afford to have Farley and Cassie painted. :)

Bogey is 9 yrs old and has a gray face...he's an old man. I wanted a portrait of him in his prime, his younger days...no gray....

The old man, posing with his portrait...he wasn't in the mood to be photographed!

  1. Yeah! I am glad you found me. I am completely new to this blogging thing, but loving it! Your is adorable too. And, I am so jealous of your Goldens. My hubby and I want a Golden so bad, but no time for a dog right now. We should definitely meet up sometime soon!
